Lorraine attended grade school in Lancaster County and St. John's Lutheran School. She graduated from Crete High School in 1945. On April 6, 1947, Lorraine married Melvin Mundt. They celebrated 62 years of marriage in 2009. Melvin passed away on November 2, 2009. Lorraine worked at the Gambles Store in Crete before she married. Survivors include sons & daughters-in-law, Paul & Darlene Mundt of Lincoln, Mark & Barb Mundt of Crete; daughter & son-in-law, Diane & Ken Kahle of Crete; grandchildren & spouses, Andrew & Melissa Kahle of Lincoln, Lisa & Shaun Vogt of Omaha, Jason & JoHanna Mundt of Lincoln, Mitchell & Thiwaporn Mundt of Milan, Italy, Stephanie Mundt & fiancé Billy Meyer of Las Vegas, NV, Corbin Mundt of Lincoln, Ashley Mundt of Crete; great grandchildren, Matthew Vogt, Morgan Brown, Addison Kahle, Alexis Kahle, Anthony Mundt, Lillian Mundt; step sister, Annette Schulz. Preceded in death by parents, husband, Melvin; step father, Emil Wilshusen; brother, Lester Henning & sisters-in-law, Barbara Henning, Leona Henning; sister-in-law and husband Evelyn & Willard Henning; 1 step brother, 3 step sisters. Pallbearers are Tom Henning, Ray Henning, Andrew Kahle, Shaun Vogt, Jason Mundt & Corbin Mundt. Honorary Pallbearers are Mitchell Mundt & Neal Henning. Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Thursday , October 30, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church, Kramer. Visitation will be on Wed. 6-8 PM with the family greeting friends at that time at Kuncl Funeral Home, Crete. Burial will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Kramer.
