Read More	Lorraine Behlings Allstot, 87, of Brookings, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at Avantara care center in Lake Norden. Memorials may be directed to Brookings Regional Humane Society. Lorraine Marlys Buckholtz was born September 21, 1932 at Clear Lake, South Dakota the daughter of William J. and Esther S.A. (Kilpatrick) Buckholtz. She received her education at Clear Lake and graduated from Clear Lake High School in May of 1951. Lorraine was united in marriage to William A. Behlings at Revillo, SD on December 22, 1951. While Bill was serving in the U.S. Army, Lorraine worked in Watertown for three years as a waitress and taking care of a motel. She also sold ads and advertising on the rural directory phone book. When Bill returned from the armed forces, they lived in Milbank, SD for four years before moving to Brookings in 1957. They worked in partnership and owned Medary Standard Service and Bill’s Conoco for 11 years. Lorraine cared for children for 13 years in her home before working at the Ben Franklin Store at the City Plaza and several years at Betty’s Pharmacy in Brookings. Bill died on September 30, 1983. Lorraine married Leonard Allstot on December 14, 1985 and they made their home in Brookings. She retired in 1986. Lorraine and Lenny vacationed in the Black Hills each spring and in Branson, Missouri each fall. She frequently wrote poems for just about anything or anyone. She enjoyed going on bus trips through First Bank and Trust, trips to the casino with her daughter Cindy and Sundays spent with Randy.
