Music was rendered by St Joseph choir. Lou Millis Frances, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pfiefer, was born on Aug 13, 1880, at Greenwood, WI. She was one of 5 children, one boy and 4 girls. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother. Lou Pfiefer was united in marriage to John Kamps at Sisseton, SD, on Jan 29, 1902. To this union was born 2 children: Bernard and Wilfred. Mr. Kamps was engaged in buying grain at Sisseton. The family moved to TL in Aug 1910 and homesteaded south of town where they now reside. From 1912 to 1932 Mr. Kamps was manager of the Simonson Grain Co in this city. On July 12 Mrs. Kamps was taken suddenly ill and was taken to the Mobridge Hospital where she passed on July 18. Pallbearers were old time friends of the family: O J Fett, Mike O'Keefe, Nick Scherer, Peter Shadduck, H W Shannon and James McGuire. Those left to mourn her loss are her husband: John Kamps; two sons: Bernard and Wilfred; three sisters: Mrs. George Alton of Milwaukee, WI; Mrs. Leah Kamps of Pierpont, SD; and Mrs. Carl Nelson of Minneapolis, MN. Since Mrs. Kamps was one of the pioneers of this community, she was well known. She was a good citizen, neighbor, and was highly respected. She was charitable, always ready to help those in need. She was loved and is now missed by the entire community. The hundreds of people who attended her funeral give testimony to the high standards Mrs. Kamps held in this section of the country. Golden Jubilee 1910-1960: The First Wedding Feb 7, 1911, Mrs. Kamp's sister Cecelia Pfeifer married W.A Leff at the Kamps' place.
