Born in Westfield, Stokes County, NC on January 11, 1929, she was a daughter of the late William B. Wright and Ethel (George) Wright. A member of Philippi Baptist Church, Mrs. Vaughan retired from Milliken & Company, Lockhart Plant. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Helen Gossett (Henry), a son, Jim Vaughan (Angie), all of Union; three grandchildren, Monty Vaughan (Crystal) of Irmo, Michael Vaughan (Jessica) of Summerville and Jason Gossett of Union; five greatgrandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Vaughan of Irmo, Ethan and Reese Vaughan of Summerville and Jason Thomas Gossett of Union; two sisters, Roucha Inman of Westfield, NC, and Judy Owens of Walnut Cove, NC. Mrs. Vaughan was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at Philippi Baptist Church by the Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial was in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers were Monty Vaughan, Michael Vaughan, Jason Gossett, Trad Robinson, Eckle James and Charles Husky. Hospice of South Carolina and special friends Francis and Lloyd Lawson and Vernon Childers were asked to sit in a group as honorary escort. The body remained at the funeral home where the family received friends Monday, September 5, 2005 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and was placed in the church at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday to await the hour of service.
