Funeral services were held at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon from Koch's Funeral Home and at 2 o'clock from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rev. R.C. Schlueter, pastor of the church, in charge. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery. Louis Braun was born May 12, 1859, in Cook County, Illinois. His parents were Henry and Wilhelmina (Haase) Braun. He was 7 years old when the family came to live in Bremer county and he had resided in Maxfield township near Denver, and in Waverly ever since. He was confirmed March 21, 1875 at St. Paul's Lutheran church, Maxfield, during the pastorate of Rev. G. Hagemann. He joined St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly later and served it as a deacon for a great many years. Mr. Braun was married to Eleanor (Huck) Seegers on October 30, 1896. She died in 1911. On December 18, 1912 he was married at Storm Lake to Eleanora (Harjes) Huck, with Rev. Lochner presiding. Mrs. Braun remains and there are two step-sons and one step-daughter. They are Werner Huck of Hampton, Rev. Roy Huck of Belmond and Mrs. A.H. Niewohner of Waverly. Mr. Braun leaves a brother and two sisters, Herman Braun of Des Moines, who is ill now, Mrs. Henry Schumacher of Sumner and Mrs. John Boesen of Waverly.
