Description	:	Louis was born in Quindaro, Wyandotte, Kansas. His headstone has 1882. He died the same day he was born, March 8th. A sister, Emma was born in the same place in 1887. The family had moved to Texas from Kansas. From there they eventually landed in Pierce County, WA. It is said Elisha (Alice) went deaf due to lightning in Texas. The family had moved to Texas from Kansas. From there they eventually landed in Pierce County, WA. It is said Elisha (Alice) went deaf due to lightning in Texas. Louis's uncle Jacob (Jake) Bohner and he delivered mail in the Pierce County area with wagons until moving to Canada in 1911. Louis died in St Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, BC. He never married. Two of his sisters, still living in Tacoma Washington brought his body by boat, the Princess Mary, to Prince Rupert, BC and then by train arriving in Terrace, BC where their parents were living in the area. Louis Haudenschield was the spelling of the name when living in the USA. The 1910 WA census was the last spelling with an "e" Haudenschield. Just recently a photo of his original grave turned up that has Louis Haudenschield on the marker and birth as 1885. This was placed when first buried by the family. The second marker definitely has 1882. According to the Kansas 1885 Census he was born in 1884. The census was dated March 1st, 1885 and listed Louis as 1 year old, which he would have been in one week. Louis was the oldest of six living children.
