Read More	KRAFT, LOUIS H MM3 US NAVY WORLD WAR II Louis Henry Kraft, 86, of Aberdeen, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital. Louis Henry Kraft was born November 8, 1921 to Andrew and Rose (Schmidt) Kraft at Aberdeen, where he was raised, attended St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1939. In 1940 he started working for K.O. Lee Company. Louis married Joyce Craig October 24, 1942 at Aberdeen. Louis joined the US Navy in 1943. He served in the South Pacific aboard the USS McFarland. He received his honorable discharge in 1945. Louis returned to Aberdeen and continued working for the K.O. Lee Company where he was employed for 47 years. He was the Foreman of the Assembly Room at the time of his retirement in 1987. Louie was a 50 year member of the American Legion, a member of the Elks, the Catholic Order of Foresters and a lifetime member of St. Mary's Parish. Louie will always be remembered by his family and friends for his wonderful sense of humor, his kindness to others and his love of animals. Louie is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce of Aberdeen, one daughter, Patti (Tom) Cavanaugh, one son, Richard (Chau) Kraft of Aberdeen, two grandchildren, Lisa Kraft of Aberdeen and Paul Kraft a student at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, one brother, Eugene (Mabel) Kraft of Modesto, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. Louie was preceded in death by his parents in 1970, two brothers, Roy in 1974 and Dan in 2003. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, May 5, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Aberdeen. Father Joe Holzhauser will be officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery with military rites by the Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post #24 of Aberdeen. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Steven Kraft, Jim Kraft, Paul Kraft, Dan Cavanaugh, Frank Waltman and Jerry Erdmann.
