Read More	Sharp Funeral Home Louis Schon, age 88, of Glidden, died Monday, October 10, 2016 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Willey. The Celebrant will be Louis’ son Fr. Randy Schon, assisted by Louis’ nephew Deacon Gary Schon. Con-Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Johnson. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, after 4 p.m. on Thursday where there will be a Rosary prayed at 5 p.m., led by Louis’ nephew, Deacon Gary Schon. A second Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., and will be led by Louis’ son, Fr. Randy Schon; it will be followed by a time of sharing. The casket will be moved to St. Mary’s Church Parish Hall in Willey on Friday morning, where visitation will resume from 9 to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left at the funeral home or at the church to be directed to the Glidden First Responders. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Born on November 24, 1927 at the family farm near Willey, Iowa, Louis was the son of William Sr. and Anna (Mersmen) Schon. He attended school at St. Mary’s School in Willey. On October 25, 1958 Louis was united in marriage to Dorothy Sporrer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Templeton. The couple farmed south of Glidden where he and his sons raised feeder pigs since 1973. Lou also lived on this farm until his final week. Lou was an avid baseball, and 16 inch slow pitch softball player and fan. He enjoyed watching his 5 children and 3 grandchildren play sports, meeting and visiting with new friends, and cheering on his Kansas City Royals since the 1970’s. Most of all Louis enjoyed his family and farming. He was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Willey. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings: Andrew (Katharine) Schon, Joseph (Dorothy) Schon, Sil Schon, Norbert Schon, and Robert Schon; his sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law: Rosie Schon, Inez (Bud) Ohlinger, Lawrence Sporrer, and Sprig Sporrer.
