Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery at Willey, Iowa. He was born on March 24, 1931 at Willey, Iowa and was the son of William Sr. and Anna (Mersman) Schon. He was married to Harriet Harden on September 5, 1963 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Carroll with Father Ries as celebrant. Following his marriage he farmed for a short time raising hogs and for many years he has been a Watkins Salesman. The Schon family were well know in this area as their Pleasant Valley Polka Band played for many celebrations, including Polka days, weddings, anniversaries and birthday parties. Bob has played the piano and push button accordion since childhood. In his spare time he enjoyed listening to old time music. One of his greatest passions in life was visiting with his family and friends. As a young boy he grew up in Willey Iowa and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and attended St. Mary’s School. He later became a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law Marie Seargant and four brothers Norbert Schon, Andrew Schon and his wife Katherine, Joe Schon and his wife Dorothy and Silvarus (Sil) Schon.
