She had been in failing health for several years, and critically ill since Christmas day. Born in Highland county, Va., Feb. 10, 1880, she was fifty-seven years, ten months, and twenty-two days old. (Crummett) Grier passed away quietly Jan. 1 at her home in Rainelle, W. Va. She had been in failing health for several years, and critically ill since Christmas day. Born in Highland county, Va., Feb. 10, 1880, she was fifty-seven years, ten months, and twenty-two days old. She had been a member of the Lutheran church, having joined early in life. Mrs. Grier had made her home in West Virginia for a number of years. She is survived by two sons, Obie and Ray of Rainelle, W. Va., and three brothers, G. R., of Chenoa, ILL.; S. W., of Marshall, Mich.; and A. C. Crummett, of Headwaters; uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Simmons of Sugar Grove, W. Va.; a great many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held Sunday at one-thirty p. m. from the Headwaters Presbyterian church, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Shultz, pastor of the Lutheran church, assisted by the Rev. L. M. Moffett pastor of the Headwaters Presbyterian church. Hymns used included “We’ll Never Grow Old,” “No Night There,” and “I’m Going Home.” Her nephews served as pallbearers: Taylor, Paul, Lawrence, and Dennis Reynolds, and Ralph and Cecil Crummett. Burial was in Headwaters cemetery.
