(Source: Iowa Select Marriages Index) ======================== People's Journal (Davenport, NE), Friday, July 3, 1925; pg. 8 OBITUARY Louisa Baker was born March 20, 1845 at Hillsboro Indiana and went to sleep in Jesus, June 23, 1925 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Waldron at Topeka. At the age of seventeen she married Francis Marion Baker, September 8, 1862 (sic) and to this union nine children were born, of which five are living: Isabel Waldron, Gertrude Lowery and Elmer Baker of Topeka, Kansas, J. C. Baker of Wisconsin, Will Baker of Naponee, also eighteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Her husband died on March 8, 1919. Louisa Baker was a member of the United Brethern (sic) Church for fover (sic) forty years, and was a most devoetd (sic) and faithful worker. She was taken sick the first of March and was brought to Topeka by her daughters where she lived until her death. She homesteaded near Oak in 1876 and was a resident of the country forty-nine years. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Martin from her home in Oak and she was laid to rest beside her husband in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
