Mrs Fye's death was not unexpected, as the members of the family and the friends and neighbors who assisted in caring for her noted the wasting away of the loved form and realized that the end was near. While the absence is felt, yet to all who knew and loved Mrs Fye comes the consolation that her troubles are over and that she is now enjoying a well earned and merited reward in the land beyond. Mrs Fye during life was a woman of sterling qualities, unassuming in character, yet receiving and meriting the esteem of all who knew her. Mr and Mrs Fye have lived in this vicinity and on the same farm for a great many years, and were among the few old settlers left. Funeral services were held Monday at 11 am from the Richland church, the sermon being delivered by Rev T K Surface, former pastor of the deceased. The services were largely attended by the entire neighborhood as well as by many residents of Marquette. The body was interred in the Richland cemetery. Louisa Fye was born in Cambria county, Pennsylvania, January 1, 1846. She moved with her parents to Stephenson county, Illinois, in 1865 and was united in marriage to Daniel Fye February 24, 1870. After a two years residence in Illinois they removed to Hamilton county, Nebraska, taking as a homestead the farm on which the Richland church stands and on which they resided at the time of her death. Mrs Fye departed this life February 11, 1916, aged 70 years, 1 months and 10 days. She leaves to mourn her loss her aged husband and two sons, Charles Wesley, who was born in Stephenson county, Illinois, and Ira David, who was born in Nebraska on the homestead. Two sisters and two brothers, Mrs Mary Miller of Beaver Falls, Pa., Mrs Annie Whitehead of Roy, Wash., W J Fye of Wymore, Nebr., and Elmer Fye of Wauneta, Nebr., and Elmer Fye of Wauneta, Nebr., also survive.
