Description	:	Louisa descended from Swiss Mennonite and English ancestors on her father's side of the family, and the Palatinate Lutheran Roush family that settled in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. Besides he twin, John Lewis Landess, she had six full siblings (George, Nancy, Mary "Polly", Jacob John, John R., and Levi L., as well as eight half siblings (Andrew, Angelina, Caherine, Sarah, Rebecca, Perry C., Nathan P., and Jane). She married John Stevens in 1848, and continued working their family farm until she was at least 85 years old, before in her last years, moving in with her daughter, Mary (Stevens)... Louisa and John had twelve children: twins Temperance S. and Sarah Ann (died at birth), Winfield Scott, Levi Landess, Steward Armstrong, Henry McLane, Mary Magdalene, Alford, Armintha, Effie Jane, Ennis and Caroline (who died as a child). In 1912, at 86 she travelled to Seattle, WA with one of her relatives, Robert Roush -- most likely to visit her family living in the Pacific Northwest, Winfield Scott, Levi Landess. There is a photograph of a family reunion at her farm in 1904 (hopefully to be posted here, soon).
