Read More	Norka is now Nekrasovo, Saratovskaya oblast, Russia ======================= The Clay County News (Sutton, NE), Thursday, December 16, 1954; pg. 3 Mrs. Louise Stertz, nee Bott, was born in Norka, Russia on Feb. 27, 1862 and it pleased the creator to end her suffering in this flesh December 9, 1954 after having attained the high age of 92 years, 9 months, and 7 days. On February 9, 1882, she was united in marriage to Conrad Stertz in Norka, Russia. This union was blessed with 11 children. In the year 1887 Mrs. Stertz and her husband came to America, and have lived at Carleton and Sutton since then. The later years of her life she resided in Sutton. Her husband preceded her in death in 1948 (sic). On April 23, 1949, Mrs. Stertz had the misfortune of falling in the yard at her home, breaking her hip, after which she was hospitalized. Everything seemed to go well, but after being brought home she found it impossible to walk, and thus it was that she was destined to spend the last five years in her bed at home, under the loving car of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Dooren, and her son, Henry. Thus it was that last Thursday in the early morning hours quietly passed out of this life into her glorious inheritance. She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters and five sons: Mrs. Anna Dorren of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Mrs. Rose Harris of South Gate, Calif.; John of Scottsbluff; Conrad, George, Bill and Henry, all of Sutton. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She was a member of the Emmanuel Reformed Church of Sutton until her death, always holding firm to the faith that "he that endureth to the end shall be save."
