Description	:	Mrs. Herman D. Zeller, formerly of Groton, passed away June 28, 3:25 p.m., at her home in McKeesport, Pa. Mrs. Zeller had been in frail health for some time. Louisa Christie Ann MacLeod Zeller was born in Lake Megantic, Quebec, Canada, on May 27, 1881, a daughter of the late Capt. Donald N. and Ann MacRae MacLeod. Zeller on Dec. 25, 1913, in... Read More	Mrs. Herman D. Zeller, formerly of Groton, passed away June 28, 3:25 p.m., at her home in McKeesport, Pa. Mrs. Zeller had been in frail health for some time. Louisa Christie Ann MacLeod Zeller was born in Lake Megantic, Quebec, Canada, on May 27, 1881, a daughter of the late Capt. Donald N. and Ann MacRae MacLeod. Coming to the States as a child, the family lived in New England where she became a Registered Nurse and served on the staff of a hospital in New Bedford, Mass. She was married to Herman D. Zeller on Dec. 25, 1913, in Mount Vernon, Iowa, and came to the farm four miles southeast of Groton. They had on son, Dwight. In 1918 the family moved to Groton, returning to the farm in 1929. Mr. Zeller passed away in 1943. During her life in this community, Mrs. Zeller was an active worker in and member of the Methodist church, and was a charter member of Chapter AC, P. E. O. Sisterhood. While the son was in World War II service, Mrs. Zeller made her home in McKeesport, Pa., with her sister, Mrs. Flora MacLeod Smedley, and niece, Dorothy Smedley. Friends will remember the late Mrs. Smedley who used to spend summers here on the Zeller farm. After World War II, Mrs. Zeller who for six years helped care for her bedridden sister, lived with her son in McKeesport where she was endeared by all who knew her. Within the last year she was named Grandmother to a troop of Brownie Girl Scouts. Kind and loving, Louisa Zeller, ministered to the suffering around her, and met her own illness and tragic changes in her life with a gallant, gentle spirit. Mrs. Zeller is survived by the son, Dwight H. Zeller, of McKeesport, Pa., a niece, Dorothy A. Smedley, also of McKeesport, and three brothers, Angus D. MacLeod of Wickford, R. I.; Allan M. MacLeod of Boston, Mass.; and Randall E. MacLeod of Torrington, Wyoming, the latter being married to the former Ruth Eyestone of Groton.
