Collins and Nolie Adkins Collins and widow of Coy Jackson Smith MAYODAN — Louise Collins Smith, 85, went home to be with the Lord and her precious husband, Coy, on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at Walnut Cove Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Smith was born on April 17, 1927 in Rockingham County to the late Dewey F. and Nollie Atkins Collins. She was a life-long resident of Mayodan, a member of the Red Hat Society and was a member of First Baptist Church of Mayodan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Coy J. Smith, Sr.; sister, Sue Collins King and brother, Leonard "Poke" Collins. She is survived by sons, Coy "Jackie" Smith, Jr. and wife, Wanda, Danny Smith and wife, Cindy, both of Madison, Billy Ray Smith and wife, Sandy of Mayodan; daughters, Carol Payne and husband, Joel of Stokesdale, Patty Lawrence and husband, Wayne of Madison and Kathy Hensley and husband, Doug of Mayodan; one sister, Eunice Brightwell of Radford, VA; grandchildren, Tammy Lide, Joel Payne, Jr., Jamie Payne, Kim Ledbetter, Johnny Lawrence, Sean Lawrence, "Jackie" Smith, Danny Smith, Jr., Danielle Acord, Nichole Smith, Jarred Smith, Brooke Hensley, D.J. Hensley and 14 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, February 8, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home and other times at Mrs. Smith's home. The family would like to thank all our friends and extended family for all their thoughts and prayers. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Western Carolina, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
