She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Pauline Miller, her husband Harold, and a sister-in-law Evelyn Kaplan. Louise May Kaplan was born at home on February 8, 1930 in rural Chelsea, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Hattie Vajgert Kaplan. She received her education in the Walnut Creek schools, rural Chelsea. Louise married Morris Vols on January 31, 1948 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. Louise enjoyed cooking, baking pies, gardening and her work as a caregiver. She also liked spending time with her dog Rinney.
