Thursday, September 26, 2013 at St. Patrick's Church in Brooklyn, Iowa, with Father Brian Shepley officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn, Iowa. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Morris was born December 10, 1922 in Belle Plaine, Iowa, the son of Henry and Julia Van Lierde Vols. He attended Walnut Creek schools rural Chelsea. He married Louise Kaplan on January 31, 1948 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn, Iowa. He began farming in rural Belle Plaine. He then moved north of Brooklyn where he and Louise farmed the rest of their married lives until they retired and moved to Grinnell. Morris was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn and attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grinnell until his health prevented him from doing so. Morris loved his dog Rinney and playing checkers with family and friends. He is survived by his four children, David (Marlene) Vols of Ankeny, Ronald Vols of Grinnell, Ilene Hagen of Knoxville, and Lilly (Armando) Sesma of Cedar Falls; his five grandchildren Cheryl Kalina of Cedar Falls, Christine (Jeff) Weiland of Van Meter, Brian (Andrea) Kalina of Detroit, Michigan, Brenda (Terry) McGuire of Urbandale and Kevin Hagen of Ankeny; his three great grandchildren Brianna and Alysa Hagen, and Aston Weiland.
