Description	:	Louise Cornelius was born on Nov. 3, 1922 at Grant, Neb. She was the second of seven children born to John and Goldie (John) Price. Lou grew up in Grant and graduated from Perkins County High School in 1940. After graduation she attended college in Hastings where she received her teaching certificate. She returned to Perkins County and taught country school south of Grant for one year. Lou was married to Ford Cornelius on June 10, 1945 in Grant. They lived on the Cornelius farmstead southeast of Madrid, Neb. until 1951 when they moved to their farm home south... Read More	Louise Cornelius was born on Nov. 3, 1922 at Grant, Neb. She was the second of seven children born to John and Goldie (John) Price. Lou grew up in Grant and graduated from Perkins County High School in 1940. After graduation she attended college in Hastings where she received her teaching certificate. She returned to Perkins County and taught country school south of Grant for one year. Lou was married to Ford Cornelius on June 10, 1945 in Grant. They lived on the Cornelius farmstead southeast of Madrid, Neb. until 1951 when they moved to their farm home south of Madrid which Ford had built. They farmed in the summer and later wintered at Mesa, Ariz. Ford died in 2005 and Lou continued to live on the farm until 2009 when she moved to Westview Retirement in Grant. She spent the winter of 2013 in Mesa. She had been in failing health and moved to Golden Ours Convalescent Home last September where she died on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014. She had reached the age of 91. Lou always enjoyed clowns and with the help of Ford, they operated the Clown n' Country Bed and Breakfast for several years. She had a large collection of clown dolls and even participated in a clown ministry and entertainment. She was a gourmet cook and wrote her own cookbook. Her favorite TV channel was the Food Channel. Lou excelled in creative writing and poetry and her poems were used on many different occasions. Lou was an avid card player and enjoyed her different bridge groups. She had been an active member of the United Methodist Church and the U.M.W. In addition to her parents and husband, Lou was preceded in death by one brother, Carlos Price and two sisters- Iola Cosner and Edna Walz; a daughter-in-law, Marlene. She is survived by her four sons, Dennis of Freeport, Ill., Mike and wife Misty of Bellbrook, Ohio, Randy of Sidney, Neb., and Sidney and wife Joan of Woodbury, Minn.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Erv Price of California and Bob and wife Nancy Slocum of Kearney, Neb. and a sister, Vicky Hayden of California; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 14, 2014 at the Madrid United Methodist Church with Pastor Linda Battello officiating. Burial was in the Madrid Cemetery. Bullock-Long Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
