BREYFOGLE Miss Lovia Fisher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Fisher, was born in Chautauqua county, New York, on the 24th day of May, 1844, and died at her home near Masonville, Iowa, April 27, 1920, at the advanced age of 76 years, 11 months and three days. BREYFOGLE Miss Lovia Fisher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Fisher, was born in Chautauqua county, New York, on the 24th day of May, 1844, and died at her home near Masonville, Iowa, April 27, 1920, at the advanced age of 76 years, 11 months and three days. The deceased came west with her parents and settled on a farm near Valpariso, Indiana, when but a young girl and where she grew to womanhood. She was married to Michael F. Breyfogle on January 1, 1861, at Valpariso where they made their home until the fall of 1866. At the outbreak of the Civil war Mr. Breyfogle enlisted in the service of his county and during his three years absence she kept up the home and cared for the baby girl. In 1866 Mr. and Mrs. Breyfogle moved to Grant County, Minnesota, where they lived until 1871, when they moved to Canton, Lincoln County, So. Dakota. Here they resided until 1875, when they came to Iowa and settled on a farm near Littleton, Buchanan county, which has been their home since. Mrs. Breyfogle joined the Christian church in early married life and all through her stay here on earth lived the life of a devoted daughter, wife and mother, always taking the golden rule as her guide. During the years of residence here she has proved herself a true friend to so many a person always looking to the care of those near and dear to her, and putting their needs before that of her own. In the home today there is a vacancy that can never be filled by another, and yet the bereaved family rejoice in the memory of one whose ministrations to them will never be forgotten. Those who are left to mourn her loss are an aged sister, Mrs. Louis Hesser, of Alta Vista, Kansas; the bereaved husband and the following children: Upton S. Breyfogle of Masonville; Mrs. F. A. Peet of Edgewood; Mrs. H. F. Boll of Dundee; Mrs. J. J. Alger of Edgewood; and Ross A. and Glen D. at home. Three daughters preceeded her in death; Sonora aged 4, Jeanette aged 4 and Lillie aged 31. There are also several grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren, nephews and nieces who will miss the one they had all learned to love. The funeral services were held at the home Thursday afternoon, April 29, Rev. Warton, pastor of the M. E. church at Masonville, preaching the sermon, and the remains were bore to their last resting place in the cemetery nearby, followed by a large number of relatives and friends, who gathered to pay their last respects to this good woman. Thus another old settler left this world of turmoil and unrest to enter that peaceful rest in that country from whence no traveler returns. Manchester Democrat - Manchester, Iowa - May 5, 1920
