Ursula Jeannette stocker was born in Cattaraugus Co, N Y, May 22, 1819 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.J. Breyfogel near Masonville, Iowa on March 8, 1912 , aged 92 years, 9 months and 16 days. The real cause of her death being pneumonia of scarcely two days duration. The subject of this sketch was married Dec 26, 1834 to Warren Fisher in New York State. Four children were born to them. Mrs. Louisa Hesser now living at Alta Vista, KS, Lorenzo Fisher, deceased, Mrs. Lovina Breyfogel, Masonville, Iowa, and Mrs Loretta Rubert, deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Fisher, with their family moved to Valparaiso, Indiana in 1857. In April 1861 her husband was taken from her by death and in 1873 she moved to Iowa settling in Litteton. She remained there near Otterville, Buchanan Co, until 1894 when she came to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Breyfogel. In 1885 she received a severe injury to one of her hips and since that time as never been able to walk a step. For several years after the death of her daughter, Mrs. Rubert, which occurred Dec 29, 1887, she kept house for the family, caring for her two grandchildren, George and Nettie Rubert, getting around the house in a wheel chair. In early life she found the need of a personal Saviour and became a Christian, being a member of the Methodist Church nearly all her life, sweetly abiding with peace and patience the will of her Lord and Master during the long Years of confinement to her home. Mrs. Fisher was one of a family of five children, four girls and one son,--all of whom have preceeded her to that unknown world from whence no traveler returns. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Louisa Hesser at Alta Vista, KS and Mrs Lovina Brefogel, Masonville, one son-in-law, M.J. Breyfogel, 25 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and numerous friends. Funeral services held at the home on March 10, The remains were taken to the Masonville cemetery for interment.
