Lowell Ray Harm, 71 years of age, of Oxford, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. Lowell was born Sept 12, 1944, in Gosper County, Nebraska, the youngest of four children born to William and Rosella (Schinkel) Harm. Lowell received his education from Elwood Public School, graduating from Elwood High School with the class of 1962. Following high school, he served his country as a member of the Nebraska National Guard. Lowell was employed by the Nebraska Department of Roads, working out of the McCook office and also worked as a bartender at the McCook Elks Lodge, prior to moving to Oxford. In 1974, Lowell was united in marriage to Sharon Dunkhas. In 1977, Lowell and Sharon purchased the Cornhusker Club restaurant, which they owned and managed until 1997. After selling the club, Lowell began working for James Richardson Trucking, where he was employed until his passing. Lowell’s hobbies included: woodworking, fishing and gardening. He spent most mornings having coffee with his many friends and most evenings working in his shop or garden. He was preceded in death by his brother, Norman Harm; brothers-in-law: Robert Jack and Don Frost; a nephew, Deon Fiene and a great-niece, Jacklyn Fiene. Lowell leaves to celebrate his life; his wife of 41 years, Sharon Harm of Oxford; two sons: Bradley Harm and his wife, Lisa of Lexington, Kentucky, and Brian Harm of Nicholasville, Kentucky; three grandchildren: PFC Jordan Harm of Fort Hood, Texas, Emily Harm and Sidney Harm both of Nicholasville, KY; two sisters: Sharon Jack of Eustis, Nebraska, and Marilyn Frost of Elwood, Nebraska; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford. A memorial has been established in Lowell’s honor and kindly suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Stamford, the Oxford Fire and Rescue or to the donor’s choice. Expressions of caring and kindness can be sent to the family at www.nelsonbauerfh.com The Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford was in charge of the arrangements.
