Plambeck was born July 12, 1927 at Persia to Bertha (Legan) Plambeck and William Plambeck Jr. He was raised in the Persia area, was baptized into the Lutheran faith at age 7 and graduated from Persia High School in 1946. He married Shirley Pitzer June 8, 1950. To this union, two daughters were born. He served in the U.S. Army from January 1952 to January 1954. He farmed and drove school bus for the Tri-Center School district for 35 years. He died Nov. 2, 1994 at age 67 years, 3 months and 21 days after he sustained injuries in a tractor accident on his farm. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Persia, his two daughters, Elaine K. Moonan (Steve) of Omaha and Linda L. Fuhs (John) of Co. Bluffs, four grandchildren, and other relatives. Funeral services were held at the Tri-Center School Nov. 5, Military rite were held at the Valley View cemetery. Casket bearers were a grandson, J.D. Fuhs and fellow bus drivers, Don Schnitker, John Killpack, Max Handbury, Bob Johnson, Tom Ring, Steve Heim and Lavern Wilson, who drove Lowell's bus #10 to the cemetery for them. Schumacher Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
