Description	:	Loy Elvid Glause, of Palmer, died Monday, April 12, 2010, at his home, surrounded by many family members including his wife, children and grandchildren. Loy was born on Oct. 28, 1932, near St. Libory, the son of Philip William and Stella (Wagner) Glause. Loy was united in marriage to Norma Jean "Jeanie" Homfeld, on March 2, 1957, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island. Loy was born on Oct. 28, 1932, near St. Libory, the son of Philip William and Stella (Wagner) Glause. Loy was united in marriage to Norma Jean "Jeanie" Homfeld, on March 2, 1957, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island. Loy is survived by his wife, Norma Jean "Jeanie" Glause; seven sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Jackie Glause and Brian and Dorothea Glause, all of Grand Island, Kevin and Sharon Glause, Galen and Sheri Glause, and Nathan and Michelle Glause, all of Palmer, Aaron and Michelle Glause of Malcolm, and Clayton and Amy Glause of Fremont; six daughters and five sons-in-law, Cynthia and Chris Saltzgaber of Grand Island, Amy and Craig Harper of Prole, IA, Joy and Bill Langrehr of St. Libory, Dawn and James Bunner of Clarkson, Elaine Glause of Palmer, and Penny and Darren Price of Hastings; three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Larry and Myrna Glause, Andy and Janette Glause, Paul and Marie Glause, and Janice (Mrs. Dan) Wieck, all of St. Libory; and one sister and two brothers-in-law, Naomi and Bob Rouse of Tucson, AZ and LeRoy Seim of Chapman. Loy is also survived by 36 grandchildren, 3 grandchildren spouses, 3 step grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren spouses, 3 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren; and Jeanie's five sisters and their spouses, Shirley and Norman Stelk of Grand Island, Carolyn and Larry Ossana of Hurricane, UT, Charlene and Gary Peterson, Rosalie and Roger Roscoe and Donna and Ken Noel, all of Grand Island; and many nieces and nephews. Loy was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, where he was a member his whole life. He attended Zion Lutheran parochial school and was a 1950 graduate of St. Paul High School. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955, having been stationed in Alaska. After his marriage to Jeanie, the couple first lived near Worms, until 1962, when they moved to the Palmer area and started the family farm. On the family farm he grew a wide variety of produce which the family sold from 1962 to 1991. He also raised Angus cattle on the Lazy Black Diamond Ranch from 1951 until his death. Loy loved following and supporting his children and grandchildren in various activities. He also loved working with his cattle and visiting with customers on his family ranch. Loy was very active in his church and set a very good example for his family and friends who witnessed his Christian Faith. Loy was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Billy Glause, Clayton Glause and Gene Glause; one sister, Verona Seim; and his in-laws, Henry and Ruby (Schmidt) Homfeld.
