Description	:	Loyd John Alderson was born to James Alderson and Etta Mae Fletcher Alderson on January 3, 1889 in Republic County, Kans. He passed from this life on March 21, 1969 at the Thayer County Memorial Hospital at Hebron at the age of 70 years, two months and 18 days. He was united in marriage to Marie S. Read More	Loyd John Alderson was born to James Alderson and Etta Mae Fletcher Alderson on January 3, 1889 in Republic County, Kans. He passed from this life on March 21, 1969 at the Thayer County Memorial Hospital at Hebron at the age of 70 years, two months and 18 days. He was united in marriage to Marie S. Nickerson on May 27, 1922 at Herington, Kans. This union was blessed with three children, DeVerne Erwin, Twyla Evon and Arlys Idean. They moved to a farm north of Chester in August of 1935 and on Dec. 16, 1945 they moved into Chester. Loyd was baptized into Christ by W.F. Kohl at the Herington, Kans., Church of Christ in the spring of 1925. He later transferred by letter to the Chester Church of Christ. He was a member of the Chester Lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Preceding him in death were his father and mother; son, DeVerne; daughter, Twyla Palmer; six sisters and three brothers. Survivors include his wife, Marie; two sisters and husband, Ethel and Robert Cox, Maude and Gene Norris; daughter, Arlys and husband, Robert Dill; son-in-law, Philip Palmer and wife, Rita; 12 grandchildren, Phyllis Palmer Wilburn, Wauneta, Palmer Cannon, Elizabeth Palmer, Dallas Crawford, Rebecca Palmer, Clarence Palmer, Stacey Palmer, Marquita Dill, Mark Dill, Matthew Dill, Michele Dill and Jack Dill; one great-granddaughter, Helen Cannon; and one uncle, George Fletcher. The funeral service was held Sunday, March 23, at 2:00 o'clock at the Chester Church of Christ, Dennis H. Davenport, minister, officiating. Singers were Mrs. John E. Crouse and Mrs. Wilbert Crouse with Mrs. Ray Truss, organist. The pallbearers were Dean Norris, Luin Norris, Jack Norris, Gary Norris, Claude Fletcher, Norman Fletcher. Interment was in the Chester Cemetery, Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Service in charge.
