Sprenger of Pierre, formerly of Miller and Orient, South Dakota died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the age of 78 at St. Mary's Transitional Care Unit in Pierre, South Dakota. Loyola Marie Anglin was born on December 9, 1929 on a farm southwest of Polo, South Dakota, the daughter of Tom and Frances (Kellen) Anglin. She attended 12 years of school at Polo, graduating in 1947. Following graduation, Lolie attended nurse's training in Pierre. Sprenger of Pierre, formerly of Miller and Orient, South Dakota died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the age of 78 at St. Mary's Transitional Care Unit in Pierre, South Dakota. Loyola Marie Anglin was born on December 9, 1929 on a farm southwest of Polo, South Dakota, the daughter of Tom and Frances (Kellen) Anglin. She attended 12 years of school at Polo, graduating in 1947. Following graduation, Lolie attended nurse's training in Pierre. She then worked for Henry and Mildred Venjohn at the Polo Store for about four years. On April 7, 1953 Lolie married George Sprenger in Polo. They bought a farm 11 ½ miles northwest of Polo, where they farmed and raised their family of eleven children. In 1997, George and Lolie moved to the Miller Manor in Miller. In 2003, Lolie moved to Pierre where she since resided. Lolie's faith and family were the most important aspects of her life. She was a member of St. Ann's Band, Christian Mothers, and St. Liborious Catholic Church in Polo. She later belonged to St. Ann's Catholic Church of Miller and Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pierre. In addition to caring for her children, Lolie produced a large garden and preserved its product as labors of love. As her husband George's health declined in later years, she became his faithful caregiver. Survivors include her eleven children: Mike (Carol) of Presho, Gary (Peg) of Orient, Kathy (Gary) Sarvis of Pierre, Patty Sprenger of St. Paul, Minnesota, Mary (Jerry) Nelson of Philip, Karen (Vern) Bult of Wahpeton, North Dakota, Deb (Jim) Peterson of Sioux Falls, Jim (Sharon Rons) of Renner, Joe (Sandy) of Orient, Steve Sprenger of Pierre, and Carol Sprenger of West New York, New Jersey. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, one sister, Ethel Schapmann, and three brothers, Alvin, Harley, and Tom Anglin. Lolie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George in 2002, an infant granddaughter Laura Jean Peterson, an infant sister Eileen Anglin, and two brothers, Jim and Sel Anglin. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at St. Liborius Catholic Church in Polo with Fr. Chester Murtha officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
