He married first Eleanor Black about 1766 in Union Co., SC and married second Elizabeth Taliaferro Stribling on 4 Oct 1779 in Union Co., SC. At the outbreak of fighting in the the Revolutionary War, William Farr joined the patriot forces under the command of Colonel John Thomas.
