Description	:	EDEN, N.C. - (edited) Lucile Lewis Sapp , 85, died Friday, April 15, 2005, at Morehead Nursing Center. The funeral service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church. Lucile was born Oct. 20, 1919, to the late Eliza and Zebedee Lewis and grew up on a farm in Tabor City. She graduated from Campbell College and received a masters degree from Womens College (UNCG). Lucile was born Oct. 20, 1919, to the late Eliza and Zebedee Lewis and grew up on a farm in Tabor City. She graduated from Campbell College and received a masters degree from Womens College (UNCG). In 1942, she married Carey Sapp and they moved to Eden soon thereafter, where they permanently made their home. In many ways, Lucile was a modern woman with old-fashioned values. She was the first person in her family to go to college and went on to attain an advanced degree. Her natural curiosity fueled her passion for traveling and she visited nearly every corner of the globe during her lifetime. She was a strong and independent person who had the courage to travel alone on occasion, always making friends along the way. But the things that were most important to her were her family, her beloved church and her many, many friends. She will be most remembered by those who knew her for her genuine affection, her generosity and her loyal friendship. Lucile touched many lives through her extensive church and civic volunteer activities, which are too numerous to list. She is survived by her husband, Carey Sapp.
