Description	:	Lucile M. Freeman age 90 of New Hampton died Thursday evening, November 3, 2011, at the New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton with Pastor Kevin Frey officiating. The pall will be placed on the casket by her two daughters. Crossbearers will be granddaughters, Jackie Whitman, Rachel Whitman and Josey Thompson. Interment will be in the New Hampton City Cemetery with Terri Josephson, Suzanne Whitman, Jeffrey Josephson, Julie Dimel, Kristine Josephson, John Josephson, Laura Norris and James Norris serving as pallbearers. Friends may greet the family 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2011, at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in New Hampton. Visitation continues an hour prior to the funeral at the church on Monday. Lucile Margaret Freeman was born December 12, 1920, on the Rigby family farm in rural Pocahontas County, IA, the eldest child of three to Douglas M. and Winnie E. (Peterson) Rigby. She received her elementary education in rural Pocahontas County, IA. She then graduated from the Laurens High School, Laurens, IA, in 1938. Lucile continued her education at the fromer Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. Her first teaching job was first grade in Swaledale, IA, from 1940-1941. It was in Swaledale where she met the instrumental band teacher, Clyde Freeman. The couple were married on May 3, 1941 in Laurens, IA, just prior to Clyde enlisting in the United States Navy. To this union the couple welcomed into their lives two daughters, Nancy in March of 1942 and Vikie in August of 1943. Lucile continues her passion for education teaching in country school in Chickasaw County, IA, from 1948-1951 and was a third grade teacher at the New Hampton Community School for 34 additional years retiring in 1985. Lucile will be remembered as a professional educator having later returned to the University of Northern Iowa to obtain her Bachelor of Arts degree. Lucille enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband as well as bird-watching, reading and collecting old dishes. Her family will remember her as a great grandmother who always focused on her family and any of their activities. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Josephson of New Hampton, Vikie Norris of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; one brother, Robert (Mildred) Rigby of Laurens, IA; one sister, Jeanette Korrect of Laurens, IA; eight grandchildren, Terri Josephson, Suzanne Whitman, Jeffrey Josephson, all of New Hampton, Julie (Dana) Dimel of Manhatten KS, Kristine Josephson, John (Katie) Josephson, both of New Hampton, Laura Norris of Bloomington, MN, James Norris of Winnipeg, Canada; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde on December 18, 1999; one son-in-law, Duane Josephson; a brother-in-law, Darrel Korrect. Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home
