Mrs. Will Buettner answered the summons of the death messenger at ten minutes after ten o'clock yesterday morning at the home on North Main street. Mrs. Buettner was taken sick with influenza Thursday, December 5 two weeks ago today. The disease developed into pneumonia, and though she made a brave fight for life, she could not overcome the disease and passed away at the time stated. Definite arrangements for the funeral depend upon the time when the relatives from a distance reach here, but it will probably be tomorrow afternoon. Lucille Belle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stratton, was born April 7, 1896, at Bushnell, S.D., but her life since early childhood has been spent in Odebolt. She was educated in the Odebolt public schools, graduating with the class of 1915. She was married at Sioux City to William Buettner, May 31, 1916, and her short married life has been passed here. She was the mother of two children, the eldest son, George William, having died in infancy. The second son, Wayne William, is but little more than six weeks old, and is thus left without a mother's love and care. Mrs. Buettner was of a lovable nature, quiet and retiring in disposition, and was well liked by her circle of friends. The home is left desolate by her death. Besides the husband and little son, she leaves her parents, sister Avis, and brother Roscoe. Sympathy is extended the bereaved husband and relatives.
