Born in Union Township on Feb. 6, 1907 to Clifford C. and Winnie (McAfee) Haiflich, she married Bernard Bobay in June, 1950; he preceded her in death in May, 1989. A 1925 graduate of Rockcreek Center High School, Mrs. Bobay gained her teaching license in 1935 after further studies at Battle Creek College in Michigan, Indianapolis Teacher's College and Butler University. Born in Union Township on Feb. 6, 1907 to Clifford C. and Winnie (McAfee) Haiflich, she married Bernard Bobay in June, 1950; he preceded her in death in May, 1989. A 1925 graduate of Rockcreek Center High School, Mrs. Bobay gained her teaching license in 1935 after further studies at Battle Creek College in Michigan, Indianapolis Teacher's College and Butler University. She initially taught at Rockcreek Center, before transferring to the Bluffton school system where she taught primary grades for 40 years, retiring in 1971. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Mrs. Bobay is survived by several cousins. Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Elzey Patterson Rodak Funeral Home in Fort Wayne. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial is at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the church. Bio provided Thanks to Dorie.
