Funeral services will be 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at the Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton, Nebraska with Deacon Sylvan Thoene officiating. Lucille Arens was born March 7, 1924, in Menominee, Nebraska, to Frank and Rosina (Jenssen) Zavadil. She grew up and helped on the farm near Menominee, until she married Gilbert Arens on January 7, 1948 in Menominee. After their marriage they moved to their farm south of Crofton, where Lucille took great pride in raising her two children Kay and Bill. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Crofton and was also a member of the Catholic Daughters. She loved sewing, working in her flower garden and was a really good cook. After her children were grown, Lucille and Gilbert took dancing classes and loved to dance. Gilbert died on March 22, 2005, and we know they are together again dancing in heaven. Survivors include her two children: Kay (Rockie) Wampol of Yankton, South Dakota and Bill Arens of Yankton; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilbert; granddaughter, Tracy Arens; daughter-in-law, Vicki Arens; two brothers: Donald and Wilfred Zavadil; and nephew, Kenny Zavadil.
