Read More	Distressing Accident A terrible ending of an innocent little life came Thursday night, Feb. 24, when 5-year-old Lucile Harrison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Harrison, played with the fire with the usual result - her clothing caught and in a few minutes she was a corpse. The family had but recently moved from the Carleton (sic) neighborhood to the Fred Haskell farm, four and a half miles southwest of Marshalltown. The father and mother had gone to the barn choring and had been gone but a few minutes when their youngest child Gladys, came running to them with the cry that "Lucile is burning up." Hastening to the house they found their darling child a mass of charred flesh, burned beyond recognition and gasping her last breath. Not a stitch of clothing was left on the little body and one shoe even was partly burned off. The carpet had been burned from the floor where the child had fallen, and the sewing machine cover had caught fire and burned up. Mrs. Harrison was formerly Elsie Richards, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elisha Richards, and a sister of Charlie and Harvey Richards, of Carleton (sic). The funeral occurred Saturday, with burial in the Dobson cemetery.
