Description	:	Lucille Sohl, age 86, of Yankton, SD, formerly of Norfolk NE passed away with all of God's dignity and grace early Friday, January 07, 2011 at Avera Yankton Care Center, Yankton, SD. Memorial services will be 1:30 PM, Thursday, January 13, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church, Yankton, with Rev. Ron Johnson officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery, Norfolk, NE at a later date. Visitations will be 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday evening at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, and then one hour prior to the service at the church. Honorary Pallbearers will are her many friends and staff at the Avera Yankton Care Center whom brought great compassionate care and friendship to her the past few years. Lucille was born March 25, 1924 to the late Alfred Ryder and Anna (Thomsen) Ryder in Omaha Ne. She attended school and graduated from North High School Omaha NE. She lived in Omaha until her late husband Wesley E Sohl returned from WWII where they then resided in the Norfolk area before moving to Yankton in 2001. Lucille was an active part of her church in Norfolk. She served as President of the United Methodist Women's group as well as chairperson of the church's annual smorgasbord. Lucille was Associate Guardian of Bethol #17 order of Job's Daughter for a number of years, past President of the Daughters of the Nile, Sesostris Temple, and participated in countless Shrine activities in the Norfolk area. Lucille is survived by one sister Mrs. James (Norma) Scoville of Denver and seven of her nine children. Mrs. DeWayne (Janis) Noelle, Norfolk, NE, Mrs. Dennis (Sandra) Reicherg, Lincoln NE, Carole Verges, Norfolk, NE, Mrs. Thomas (Patrice) Niewohner, Elk Point SD, Mrs. James (Jayne) Mangels, Norfolk, NE, Aaron R. Sohl, Powder Horn CO., Gary L. Sohl, Phillips NE, and Bill Sohl and Rhonda Hofer of Yankton, SD, as well as 21 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren. In her past few years, since moving to Yankton, Lucille loved reading and has read over 600 books from the Yankton Public Library, She enjoyed Bingo days at the Care Center. What she found most enjoyable was attending church on Sundays, the brunch at the Fry-N-Pan and an afternoon drive out to the lake area where she spent years at their summer home in Kohles Acres. She loved dogs, children especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren when they would visit her in Yankton. She was preceded in death by her husband Wesley Sohl, one sister Joan Parr, her parents Alfred and Anna, one daughter Connie and infant son Tommy. I (Don Skokan, Lucille's cousin) had requested a photo of the burial marker for Lucille, and I received the response below from a FindaGrave volunteer. "Greetings Don, For your information. Your request for a picture of marker for Lucille Sohl has not yet been posted. The cemetery book does not list her. Her husband is listed and his marker is shown on his page. If she is buried there then she would have been place on top of his grave as there is no room on either side of him for your burial. That includes cremains. So I am posting a picture of the area. I just wanted you to be aware of what I found. If you have any questions please let me know. Sincerely, Richard"
