Description	:	Lucillia Abby, 84, of Miller, died Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the Prairie Good Samaritan Center, Miller. Lucillia was born February 20, 1922 on a farm south of Rockham to John and Freida (Hardie) Becker. She attended grade school at Sanger School in Hand county for eight years and later graduated from St. Lawrence High School in 1940. She went on to Northern State College for one year and began teaching in rural schools in Hand County for four years. Read More	Lucillia Abby, 84, of Miller, died Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the Prairie Good Samaritan Center, Miller. Lucillia was born February 20, 1922 on a farm south of Rockham to John and Freida (Hardie) Becker. She attended grade school at Sanger School in Hand county for eight years and later graduated from St. Lawrence High School in 1940. She went on to Northern State College for one year and began teaching in rural schools in Hand County for four years. She then moved to San Diego for two years and worked for Consolidate Aircraft Plant and a thrifty café. On November 18, 1947, she married Charles Dwane Breeding. He passed away on June 22, 1948. She then married Joseph E. Abby on March 1, 1956 and he later passed away on January 10, 1987. She worked at the Hand County State Bank from 1948 to 1978 as a teller. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Peace Circle, and Garden Club. She volunteered and served many offices for years at Prairie Good Samaritan Center and Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed planting flowers in Crystal Park and her flowers in her backyard were very important to her and she spend all summer pulling weeds and making sure the plants were healthy. While she had no children, her nieces and nephews were very important to her. Lucillia entered the Prairie Good Samaritan Center in August of 2002. Lucillia is survived by her brothers and sisters: Elvina (Roger) Engle of New Hope, MN, Les (Verna) Becker of St. Lawrence, Marlin (Lucy) Becker, Marvin Becker, and Irene (Robert) Schmidt, all of Rockham; sister-in-law: Leona "Blonde" Becker of Rockham and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles in 1948; husband Joe in 1987; infant sister: Evelyn in 1927; brother: Milton in 2002; sister-in-law: Marion Becker; niece: Janet Turner; and Great nephew: Larry Becker, Jr. Funeral services were Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in Miller with Rev. David Andrews officiating. Burial was in G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller, directed by Reck Funeral Home of Miller.
