Edgewood Journal Thursday 07 Apr 1921 Former Citizen Buried Monday Lucinda Asena Haskell, daughter of Thomas and Huldah Haskell, was born at Busti, N.Y., November 19, 1832. She was the fifth chid of eight children, one only a brother, Monroe, surviving her. At an early age she cam to what was then Far West, Iowa, with her parents settling on a farm about 8 miles east of that place. She attended the school such as they were in the new country and afterward became a teacher in these schools. She experienced many of the privations and hardships incident to pioneer life and saw the remarkable changes that came with the years. She was married to Levi R. Noble, March9, 1854, three children were born of this marriage, Clarence, Leonard, and MIna. The two boys died, Leonard November 3, 1868 and Clarence December 9, 1968. Seven years ago, Death again entered the home and took the husband and father. Mrs. Moble was a devoted Christian woman, a faithful member of the Congregational Church of Strawberry Point. Although an invalide since the death of her boys in 1868, she was ever forgetful of herself and her suffering and thought only of the welfare and happiness of those about her. The daughter Mina, who alone survives has left nothing undone that professional skill, love, and tender care could suggest to make her mother comfortable and happy in her declining years. Shortly after midnight, April 1st, 1921, at the age of 88 years, 4 months, and 12 days, this venerable woman piloted by the Great Master of the Universe left the shores of time for those of Eternitym for that home Eternal in the Heavens. The funeral services were held in the home Monday morning and conducted by Rev. Chas. True, an oldtime friend of the family, assisted by Rev. Maxwell of the Congregational Church. Interment was made at Edgewood. The profusion of beautiful flowers - the sorrowing frinds paid glowing tribute to the departed friend and neighbor.
