Lucinda passed away on July 27, 1930, in Clear Creek Township, Fairfield County, Ohio, and was buried on the 29th in Maple Hill Cemetery in Stoutsville. Death notice for Lucinda S. Thomas Valentine from the Newark Advocate and American Tribune of Tuesday, July 29, 1930: "Mrs. Lucinda Valentine, 81, died at her home south of Oakland, afteran illness of two weeks. She is survived by four daughters and four sons." Obituary for Lucinda S. Thomas Valentine from the Circleville Herald of Tuesday, July 29, 1930: "AGED STOUTSVILLE RESIDENT IS DEAD. Mrs. Lucinda Valentine, 81, Dies Sunday After Illness of Two Weeks. Funeral services for Mrs. Lucinda Valentine, aged 81, who passed away at her home near Oakland Sunday afternoon, were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the residence, with interment in Stoutsville mausoleum. She had been confined to her bed for two weeks. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Edith Baker, Columbus, Mrs. H. A. Courtright, Stoutsville, Mrs. Myrtle Cruit, at the home, and Mrs. N. D. Hedges, of Lancaster. Four sons, H. D., Sumner and Kirby, of Lancaster, and Clarence of Stoutsville, also survive."
