Wakefield, 2127 Benton street, from where the funeral services were held at 10 o'clock, Saturday morning, conducted by the Rev. J.C. Crawford, burial in Linwood cemetery. Lucy M. Harmon was born in Ohio, Aug. 12, 1842 and was in her 66th year at the time of her death. In 1854 she came with her family to Boone County and settled on the old Harmon homestead five miles east of Boone. January 1, 1860 she was united in marriage with Samuel Coe and removed to Boone, where she continued to reside until a few months ago when she went to Chicago to visit her sons. Shortly after going to Chicago she was taken ill and grew worse until her condition became serious. An operation was performed early last week, but her condition was too weak to withstand it and she passed away Thursday morning. She leaves her husband and five children, Clara L. Wakefield of Boone, Arthur C., Jesse and Edward Coe of Chicago and Frank Coe of North Dakota, one daughter Mary, died at the age of six years. She also leaves four brothers and one sister, Frank and Dewey Harmon of Boone, Willis Harmon of Oklahoma and Albert Harmon of Ohio and Mrs. Retta Smith of Michigan to mourn her death and to whom is extended the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of sorrowing friends. Mrs. Coe was a faithful worker in the Gospel Tabernacle congregation and an earnest member of the W.R.C. a woman of gentle character and cheerful disposition beloved by all who knew her.
