She was born Jan. 25, 1904 at Monterey, daughter of Charles W. and Mary Bertie Lunsford Trimble. Miss Trimble taught math and Latin in Highland County schools for 36 years, retiring in 1965. She was a member of Monterey United Methodist Church, and is survived by one sister, Mrs. George N. Wilson Jr. of Charleston; a brother, Ralph M. She was a member of Monterey United Methodist Church, and is survived by one sister, Mrs. George N. Wilson Jr. of Charleston; a brother, Ralph M. Trimble of Chapel Hill, N.C.; two nieces, and one nephew. The service was conducted by the Rev. James Tongue at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1 from the chapel of Obaugh Funeral Home Burial was in Monterey Cemetery. Highland Recorder November 2, 1923 Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Dickenson and family, accompanied by Miss Mildred Trimble, pupil of the Harrisonburg State Normal, spent the weekend with Monterey relatives. Teacher at Pine Grove, south of Monterey for session 1925-1926. Reynolds, assistant principal and coach; Miss Virginia Beverage, english and mathematics; Mrs. Ruth Wade, social studies; Miss MILDRED TRIMBLE, mathematics and Latin; Highland Recorder December 10, 1964 When illness sidelined Miss Mildred Trimble, venerable Latin instructor, and no Latin teachers were available, Mrs. Amstutz was asked to take over the class and make the change over to Spanish, a move not entirely suitable to school authorities or parents, but one which will enable students to complete two years of foreign language for academic diplomas. Highland Recorder November 18, 1965 The annual banquet of the Highland County Education Association was held at Highland High School Nov. 5. John B. Reynolds, principal at Monterey Elementary School, paid tribute to two retired teachers, Mrs. T. J. Reynolds and Miss Mildred Trimble.
