Description	:	Lucy Virginia (Huffman) Robertson of Birmingham, Ala., went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2014. She was born April 14, 1915, in Alma, Va., the ninth of 10 brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Lee and Minnie Lee (Alger) Huffman; her husband, Roy R. Robertson; her son, Roy Richard Robertson Jr.; and her siblings, Clarke C., Ray R., Elmer H., Walter J., Melvin B. and James I. Huffman, and Lynda Owens, Gladys Abell and Nellie Berry. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Lee and Minnie Lee (Alger) Huffman; her husband, Roy R. Robertson; her son, Roy Richard Robertson Jr.; and her siblings, Clarke C., Ray R., Elmer H., Walter J., Melvin B. and James I. Huffman, and Lynda Owens, Gladys Abell and Nellie Berry. Mrs. Robertson is survived by her son, James Michael Robertson; three grandchildren, Courtney G. Williams, Rebecca C. Sheffer and Roy Robertson III; five great-grandchildren, Lucy Katherine, Margaret Lauren and Emma Grier Sheffer, and Caroline Elizabeth and Conlan Joseph Williams; and by her daughter-in-law, Lynda Grier Robertson. Additionally she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, five of whom currently reside in Page County. Lucy and her husband, Roy, were long-time members of the Lutheran Church of the Reformation on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., where they were married on July 3, 1937; later they joined St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Silver Spring, Maryland, where Lucy was active in Meals On Wheels. She worked as an executive secretary at the National Institutes of Health and later at the U.S. Census Bureau. Lucy was an avid golfer, playing well into her eighties, and was the proud holder of a hole in one at Pinehurst, N.C. She loved playing bridge and was always looking for partners for a game. Reading was also a favorite activity which she passed on to her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lucy worked closely with the women’s auxiliary of the Rotarians and the Lions Club alongside Roy. Visitation and services officiated by Pastor Mark Briehl were at 2 p.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran, Alma, on October 14, 2014. Mrs. Robertson was buried in the St. Luke’s cemetery alongside and nearby her family members.
