Louis Englehart, Sr., departed this life last Thursday, November 25th at his home twelve miles south of Bison after an illness of several months. The funeral services were held at the local Catholic Church on Sunday forenoon, Fr. Parisian officiating, and interment was made in the Bison Cemetery. Mr. Englehart was born near Odessa, Russia, seventy-one years ago. He came to this country in 1898, locating at Aberdeen, where for eleven years he worked for the city in the street department. In 1909 he located on the homestead south of Bison which continued to be the home of himself and family until his death. He is survived by Mrs. Englehart, three sons and two daughters, being John, Louis and Margaret, the wife of Edwin Haugen, of this place, Sebastian of Aberdeen, and Lena, the wife of John Fisher of Mobridge. Never very rugged in his later years, Mr. Englehart labored quietly on his farm. In his young life he served in the Russian army for six and a half years in the capacity of a blacksmith, but did don continue this work afterwards. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the family in this time of their sorrow.
