Description	:	MRS. MARTIN ALMQUIST FUNERAL WEDNESDAY Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, October 3, 1962, at 2:00 P. M., in St. John's Lutheran Church for Mrs. Martin Almquist, 66. Mrs. Almquist died Sunday at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, where she had undergone surgery last Thursday. The body was brought to the church parlors from Hackett Funeral Home, for prayer services at 1:45 P. M. The church pastor H. B. Bengtson was in charge. Mrs. Almquist died Sunday at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, where she had undergone surgery last Thursday. Floral arrangements were cared for by Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Patterson. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Sar were in charge of the memory book. Ushers were Russell A. Englund and Reuben L. Johnson. Casket bearers were Howard Almquist, Marvin Almquist, Wayne Almquist, Robert C. Anderson, Donald Anderson, and Frank Johnson. Burial was in Essex Cemetery, Essex Cemetery, Third Addition, First Row, Lot 22. Mrs. Almquist was born in Montgomery County, Iowa, but lived most of her life in the Essex and Shenandoah communities. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Arthur William and Luella Parker, a Shenandoah physician. For the last 15 years, the family made its home four miles east of Shenandoah. She is survived by her husband, Martin; two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Marjorie) Johnson, Essex, Iowa and Mrs. Allen (Luella Belle) Adkins, Shenandoah, Iowa; four grand children, Denise and Tom Johnson and Pamela and Doug Adkins. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. C. R. Butler of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Information found in The Essex Independent, October 4, 1962.
