Description	:	Luella Zoubek, 79, of Leigh, Nebraska, died Friday, October 19, 2012, at the Cottonwood House in Columbus, Nebraska, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. The funeral service will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Leigh, Nebraska, with Rev. Dr. Marsha Jark-Swain officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Luella Elsa Zoubek was born July 15, 1933, in Platte County, Nebraska, to Reinhold and Martha (Loseke) Engelbart. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Creston, Nebraska. Luella attended Platte County District #43 Grade School. She then worked as a hired girl helping families with household chores and helped take care of the children, worked at Flossie's Café, and helped her mother bake and decorate wedding cakes. On April 22, 1961, Luella was united in marriage to Dennis Zoubek at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Creston. Luella and Dennis made their home on a farm south of Leigh. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Luella enjoyed gardening, watching and listening to birds, and doing crossword puzzles. Luella is survived by: Husband - Dennis Zoubek of Leigh, NE Daughter - Kathy (Melvin) Wemhoff of Columbus, NE Daughter - June (Todd) Went of Creston, NE Grandsons - Taylor, Dylan, and Logan Went Twin Sisters - Irene Hansen of Wayne, NE, and Ilene Theilen of Columbus, NE Sister - Fern (Norbert) Theilen of Columbus, NE Brother - Robert (Loretta) Engelbart of Leigh, NE Many nieces and nephews Luella was preceded in death by: Parents - Reinhold and Martha Engelbart Sister and brother-in-law - Marcella and Reinhart Theilen Brothers-in-law - Don Hansen and Paul Theilen
