Description	:	She was the second daughter of Otto H. & Rose(Gerken)Sander. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Creston. She attended rural grade school and Creston High School, receiving her GED through Platte College. Luella was united in marriage to H. DeForest Jansen on Sept. 17, 1940 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Creston. The couple lived in Creston while DeForest worked at a local grocery store and helped his father farm. She attended rural grade school and Creston High School, receiving her GED through Platte College. Luella was united in marriage to H. DeForest Jansen on Sept. 17, 1940 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Creston. The couple lived in Creston while DeForest worked at a local grocery store and helped his father farm. They later moved to a farm east of Creston and then purchased the Phillips farm and moved there. Luella moved to the Countryside Home at Madison, NE in December 2007. Luella was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Creston and various church organizations and assisted in preparing funeral lunches. She belonged to extension clubs and community organizations. She raised a large garden and did much canning. She is survived by her husband, H. DeForest of Madison; 2 sons, Keith Jansen of Valley, NE and Tim Jansen of Rapid City, S.D.; 4 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Hobza of Leigh, NE; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, DeWayne and Laura Jansen of Columbus, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Shirley(Ruehling)Jansen; and one great grandchild.
