Joseph Grimes, former Methodist pastor, died in Clark Memorial Home in Grand Rapids, Saturday morning after a short illness. ---Born in Graysville, Ind., Nov. 27, 1887, she was the daughter of Simenon and Anne (Burnett) Yager and attended school in Graysville and the Merom Bluff, Indiana Conservatiory[sic] of Music. She was organist in the Graysville Methodist church for eight years and later gave piano lessons. She was also a fine vocalist in her younger days. ---On Dec. 25, 1912, she was married... Joseph Grimes, former Methodist pastor, died in Clark Memorial Home in Grand Rapids, Saturday morning after a short illness. ---Born in Graysville, Ind., Nov. 27, 1887, she was the daughter of Simenon and Anne (Burnett) Yager and attended school in Graysville and the Merom Bluff, Indiana Conservatiory[sic] of Music. Grimes in Graysville, Ind. They served as pastorates in Indiana and Michigan until retirement in 1941 when they moved to Homer. Rev. Grimes died in 1955. ---She was an active member of the Homer United Methodist church and a charter member of the WSCS of the church. ---For the past 17 months she had resided in her church retirement home in Grand Rapids. ---Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Germaine) Mains of Homer; two sons, Buford D. Grimes, Battle creek and J. Philip Grimes of Jackson; a sister, Mrs. Paul (Jessie) Cushman, Sullivan, Ind.; a brother, Fred Yager, Kenton, Ohio; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral Service GRIMES, LUELLA J. Homer Funeral services for Mrs. Luella J. Grimes, who died in a Grand Rapids nursing home Saturday morning, will be held at the Mains funeral home, Homer, at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. E.L. Sutcliffe of Homer United Methodist church officiating.
