Her body has been cremated and a Memorial Service will be Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ogden with Rev. Brian Danner officiating. Read More	Luella Schell, age 87, of the Ogden Manor in Ogden and formerly of Boone, died at the Ogden Manor on July 7, 2007. Her cremains will be buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Boone. Luella was born in Boone on November 21, 1919, the daughter of William and Ada (Platter) Kirkendall. She graduated from Boone High School in 1937 and on June 5, 1939, she married Harold Schell at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Boone. Luella and her husband purchased a farm on North Marion Street in Boone in 1945 and operated Schell Dairy Farm until 2005. She became the financial advisor of the farm operation and Ski Valley recreation facility that they operated from 1972 until 1996. A stroke in 2002 ended her ambitions and ability to care for herself, and in 2003, she became a resident of the Ogden Manor in Ogden. In earlier years, Luella enjoyed ceramics, reading, crocheting and quilting, making blankets, and playing pinochle. She also enjoyed gardening, canning and preserving, and cooking. Luella is preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather LeRoy Littleton; a great granddaughter; a daughter-in-law Jeary Wood; four brothers, Chester, Russell, and Richard Kirkendall, and James Littleton; and a sister, Mary Smith. She is survived by her husband, Harold; two sons, Harold “Bill” Schell of Hibbing, Minnesota and Rex Schell of Boone; two daughters, Rose Marie Greenfield of Maryville, Missouri, and Catherine ”Cathy” Good and husband, David of Kelley; a brother, Bobbie Littleton of Seattle, Washington; a sister, Elsie DeMouth of Des Moines; and thirteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Friends may call at St John’s Catholic Church in Ogden on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be given to the Church of the Sacred Heart in Boone or St. John’s Catholic Church in Ogden. Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone is in charge of the arrangements.
