OBITUARY OF LUELLA MAE TROXEL Luella Mae Bush was born November 6, 1901 in Oklahoma, the sixth child of Manuel Benton and Catherine Elizabeth (Winsor) Bush. She departed this life on March 11, 1997, at Heritage of Wauneta, Wauneta, Nebraska. Luella lived in Langdon and Hutchison, Kansas., where she started her schooling. The family later moved to Platteville, Colo., where she finished her schooling. In the 1920s, the family came to Wauneta to visit relatives. Luella worked in several homes in the area. When she was working in the Fred Troxel home, she met Fred's younger brother, and on October 4, 1922, Luella Bush and Orley Troxel were married in Hayes County by Liston Ford. In the spring of 1923, they moved to a farm south of Wauneta where they lived most of their married life. They moved into Wauneta in the spring of 1971 following eye surgery. She lived here until she entered Heritage in May, 1991. In the early '20s, Luella was baptized into her Lord and attended church at the Elmer and Wauneta Church of Christ. Luella was a homemaker in the true meaning of the word. Her interests were her home, her family, her yard and garden. Her gardens produced abundantly for her family and friends. Her grandchildren were her delight. She loved to fix cinnamon rolls, creamy rice and raisins and chocolate cake for them. She loved to do embroidery work, crocheting, tatting, making and quilting quilts. A verse on a card that a grandchild sent her described her life so well ---- She has the heart that cares so completely, She has the hands that do things so sweetly, She has the wisdom that families treasure, She has the love that brings joy beyond measure. Luella was preceded in death by Orley, her husband of 61 years; her mother and father; her son, Robert; her daughter, Neoma Miller; one grandson; four brothers: Otis, Otto, Lawrence and Francis; four sisters: Neva Kanzlecter, Loretta Lewis, Leatha Bush and Nevada Trickel. She is survived by two daughters: Norma Bodeman and husband, Gerold, of Palisade and Nola Straub and husband, Harry, of Rock Springs, Wyoming.; one son-in-law, Don Miller and wife, Pearl, of Arvada, Colo.; nine grandchildren: Sue, Ray, Donna, Dan, Ann, Don and Tim Miller and David and Robert Straub; sixteen great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter; one brother, Talbert Bush of Greeley, Colo., and many nieces and nephews and many friends, including the loving staff at Heritage who cared for her needs for the past six years. Funeral services were held Friday, March 14, at 4 p.m. at the Wauneta Church of Christ, Wauneta, with Randy Hayes officiating. Music was provided by the Church of Christ choir. Pallbearers were Raymond Miller, Daniel Miller, Donald Miller, Timothy Miller, David Straub and Robert Straub. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery at Wauneta with Liewer Funeral Home of Wauneta in charge of arrangements. Obit contributed by Jeri Herbert
