Luetta Matilda (Toomsen) Klein was born to Charles Toomsen and Matilda (Venenga) Toomsen on the farm south of Hampton, Iowa on March 10, 1924. She passed away on Friday, January 30, 2016 at her home (of the past ten years) in McCallsburg, Iowa. She attended Maysville and Bradford schools through the eighth grade. Read More	Luetta Klein age 91 of rural Iowa Falls, died on Friday, January 29, 2016 at her daughters home in McCallsburg. Luetta Matilda (Toomsen) Klein was born to Charles Toomsen and Matilda (Venenga) Toomsen on the farm south of Hampton, Iowa on March 10, 1924. She passed away on Friday, January 30, 2016 at her home (of the past ten years) in McCallsburg, Iowa. She attended Maysville and Bradford schools through the eighth grade. Playing the Hawaiian guitar and piano, music came naturally to her. In her early years she played in her older brothers’ band. On December 29, 1943 she married Edward E Klein at her parent’s home in Holland, Iowa. They farmed southeast of Bradford and were involved in many Bradford activities as well as those at St Peter’s Church near Geneva. Luetta especially liked to sing in the choir, teach Sunday School, and join in all the Women’s Fellowship projects, and Sewing Day. In the community she was a member of The Sunshine Club, the Pleasant Hill (Grant Township) Cemetery Society, the neighborhood card club, and the local Christmas cookie bakes. Luetta is survived by her son, Craig Klein, Sr (Maria) of Bettendorf, and five daughters: Mary Klein of Iowa Falls, Marlys Benck of McCallsburg, Connie Tjelmeland (Mark) of McCallsburg, Cathy Hughes (Dick) of Cave Junction, Oregon and Sue Marie Klein of Ames; and eleven grandchildren: Deirdre, Altair, Mark, Rachel, Adrianna, Craig,Jr, Melanie, John, Jim, Anna, and Sarah; and by eleven great grandchildren; and one great great grandson; and her brother Duane (Erna) Toomsen of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; and two brothers: John Toomsen and Wilbert Toomsen: and two sisters Margaret Werkman and Bernice Sealman. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday at the St. Peter's U.C.C., rural Geneva with burial in the church cemetery. Obituary & photo published Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls.
