Description	:	Mrs. Lula Sterling Ennis, highly respected Crisfield matron, died in the McCready Hospital Saturday of last week after a brief illness. She was 75 years of age. A native of Crisfield, she was the daughter of the late William and Sally Webster Elliott. Married twice, her first husband, Ira Sterling, died in 1946; her second husband, Jesse Ennis, died in 1958. Mrs. Ennis was an energetic, competent woman, devoted to her family, very neighborly, and she had a large circle of warm friends who held her in deep regard and affection. Read More	Mrs. Lula Sterling Ennis, highly respected Crisfield matron, died in the McCready Hospital Saturday of last week after a brief illness. She was 75 years of age. A native of Crisfield, she was the daughter of the late William and Sally Webster Elliott. Married twice, her first husband, Ira Sterling, died in 1946; her second husband, Jesse Ennis, died in 1958. Mrs. Ennis was an energetic, competent woman, devoted to her family, very neighborly, and she had a large circle of warm friends who held her in deep regard and affection. She had been a very useful and helpful person all through her life. A viewing was held in the Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home Sunday afternoon and evening. Funeral services were held in Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church, of which she was a member, on Monday at 2:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Daniel G. Higgins, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Wilbur M. Whalen, pastor of the Holiness Christian Church. Burial was in the Crisfield Cemetery. Bearers were Elton Whittington, Mitchell Purcell, Percy J. Nelson, Charles McMann, Charles G. Spires and Jesse Byrd. Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Mildred) Hayman and Mrs. Joe (Elsie) Beauchamp; one son, William C. Sterling; two sisters, Mrs. Bertie Byrd and Mrs. Sally Bradshaw; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, all of Crisfield.
