She was born April 30, 1929, in Logan County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Frank Edwin and Edith Louise (Meininger) Towle. She lived in Oklahoma until her senior year of high school when the family moved to the Savonburg, Kansas area. She graduated from Savonburg High School in 1947. Read More	******************************** Published April 20, 2004 - Chanute, KS Lula Mae "Lou" Disney, 74, of Chanute, Kansas, died Thursday, April 15, 2004, at her residence in Chanute, Kansas. She was born April 30, 1929, in Logan County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Frank Edwin and Edith Louise (Meininger) Towle. She lived in Oklahoma until her senior year of high school when the family moved to the Savonburg, Kansas area. She graduated from Savonburg High School in 1947. She married James Franklin Disney on Sept. 6, 1948, in Walnut, Kansas. The family farmed until 1959, then moved to Chanute. She babysat for 10 years before becoming a seamstress, doing alterations for Montgomery Ward, Fosters, J.C. Penney, and various other clothing stores in Chanute for more than 35 years. She enjoyed camping at the lake, the McDonald's breakfast clubs, and going on the Good Will Tours. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Survivors include one son, Edwin D. Disney, Broken Arrow, OK; three daughters, Kathy Ogden of Columbia, MO, Beverly Cady of Bronson, KS, and Judy McCready of Chanute, KS; one brother, Russell Towle, of Jay, OK; one sister, Mary Baker, of Yates Center, KS; 14 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; and one sister, Irene Ostrander. Funeral services will be Monday, at the First United Methodist Church, led by the Rev. Larry Myers. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery on E. 14th St, Chanute, KS. Memorials to the Horizon Hospice, or to the American Cancer Society may be left with Johnson Mortuary, which is in charge of arrangements. *********************************
